Going Forward

Thank God it’s Thanksgiving Break (and an entire week to boot) because I am suffering from information overload. Once I digest all that has been offered, I plan to use the knowledge learned to better enhance my work as school librarian and classroom teacher. I will use the Wiki to help keep me organized with meetings, lessons, and syllabi. Information-sharing with my teachers and students will make my job much easier. I hope to expand my blog and use it as a tool for sharing information.  I plan to make use of the video with photo story to make my presentations more interesting and teach students how to create lessons they may share with their teachers and peers. Google Reader is an awesome tool that makes life so much easier as I attempt to follow my blogs. Thanks Johnnie for showing us how to organize it. Glogs will be great for introducing new library materials and raising students’ interest levels about various literary genres.

The Shack by William Paul Young

The Shack -
        By: William P. Young
I don’t remember how I ended up with a copy of The Shack in my hands, but I am so blessed I did. I became excited when my husband, asked me if I’d heard of the book, and I was able to respond affirmatively. Not only had I heard of it, but I had a fresh new copy sitting on my nightstand along with a plethora of others awaiting my attention. He inhaled it in two days and told me that I’d love it. I too could not put it down until I was finished. This is an awesome story of rebirth. It helped me “relax” a little as a Christian and see God as a loving and forgiving God, rather than one who shells out His wrath whenever we disappoint Him. Forgiveness and unconditional love were the focal points. The presentation of the Trinity through Papa, Saraju, and Jesus made their existence more realistic. I bought several copies and gave them as graduation and Christmas presents last year. I pray those who read it will enjoy it as well as I did.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

My favorite time of the year is here. I pulled out my favorite Jackson 5 Christmas CD along with Alvin & the Chipmunks this morning, and Joy and I jammed all the way to school. We've posted a Christmas Wish List on her bedroom wall that she already begun to complete it. The weather seems to be cooperating too. God is good.

Blog Topic Week One: What is the difference between a blog and a wiki?

A blog is a sort of online journal. It is updated daily or weekly or whenever the author desires. A wiki is a platform that is meant for anyone to update in real time. A blog is owned by an individual whereas wiki is being updated by many people around the world.
